Happiness and Misadventures

Almost, Almost,…

I’m forcing myself to take a break from the frenzy of the last couple of months. I’ve been spending 90% of my free time working on our new home… which is almost ready! 🎉 It is already habitable, but we decided to take the things slow, and we’ll have first a vacation, then we’ll move at about the end of June.

Or, at least, these are the plans for now.

The construction site is almost closed, and we are facing the last real pain: dampness in the walls, coming from tuff underground –the house is old, it hasn’t good external foundation–. In the meanwhile, we ordered (and assembled) lots of IKEA furniture, painted many of the wood ones, and worked a lot in the garden. The latter is amazing, but it will seriously take years to transform it in the one we wish. It is still quite wild, even after three or four years we’re working on it.

A picture taken on the top of a hill with lush valleys on the left and right, plenty of trees. At the bottom, a small village can be seen. On the horizon, low mounts, and the dark blue sky is full of clouds.

In the next few weeks, after a short vacation in Bretagne –we’re going back there after nine years!– we’ll take the big step. I can’t wait to finish(?) this story, to start writing again, and to sleep in our brand new second-hand bed — that is a story which will require a dedicated post. After the moving, I think I will write the whole story in some form, a tragicomical novel. Now it isn’t the time yet: we’re still in it, but we can almost breathe!
