Pizza and Friendship
This will be my first post written using BearBoost by Robert Birming, we’ll see how it goes.
The prompt I got was: “Write a blog post about the podcasts you listen to regularly”. Well, that’s quite easy: generally, I don’t like podcasts. Maybe I’m the only person on Earth. 👀
If I have spare time at home, I prefer reading a book, playing videogames, or watching a movie. Or, even better, listening to some music – old or new, it does not matter. Podcasts are strange, for me: you can find any topic you like, and I bet there are many ones that I’d appreciate… but they just don’t fit my habits.
Except for one.
It is a podcast with a cool name: PowerPizza. It is obviously about pizza, but the hosts mainly talk about series, movies, books or videogames. What makes the show special, though, is their relationship: they are very good friends, and the listener can totally feel it while listening.
The best part of the cast is not about the content, but listening to them talking. It feels like sitting at a table, listening to three friends of yours discussing – and you have constantly a smile on your face because they are funny. It’s the feeling you get while watching How I Met Your Mother.
When I used to go out more often with my closest friends, it was nice to just listen to them joking/fighting/discussing/blaming/mock each other. It felt home.
This is real friendship.
And this is what I get whenever I listen to PPP, a.k.a. Power Pizza Podcast. It is not a podcast about anything in particular, it is just about friendship.
Probably it is also because I miss the friends I mentioned above: one moved to the other side of the globe, and about ten years ago everything changed for all of us. But we’ll discuss that another time.
About PowerPizza, I started listening to it approximately one year and half ago, when we moved in this countryside hamlet while waiting for the renovation works to finish. Since then, each time I take the car, I put the show on1, and time flies.
The show currently has ~300 weekly episodes, and I started from 250 going back. When I figured out that it hadn’t much sense, one hundred chapters later, this summer I started listening from the very first one. As of today, I am at number 42.2
🎮 I played one hour of Night in the Woods… interesting!
🎧 I’m currently trying to explore SUNN O)))’s world. It’s complicated.
📖 Always NOS4A2.
