Through Insomnia and Good Neighbors
December has been a full month. We’ve been to a very short vacation in Northern Piedmont, here in Italy, and we enjoyed some good hikes despite it was low season. Because of this, many mountain huts were closed and part of the charm was gone. You know, it’s nice to walk in the nature and all… But a good lunch in a hut with traditional dishes is probably the part I prefer.
There, in that cozy –and extremely hot because of the heating– apartment, I started having some troubles with insomnia. That was the last thing I needed: since a few months, I realized aware that I’m always more and more short-tempered. I don’t like being it, and I try my best to avoid mouthing off, and counting to five before answering someone… But sometimes I can’t control it.
The cause is the renovation of our house, which is NEVERENDING! Honestly, I don’t know where to turn because the carpenter just doesn’t come at work. It would be nice to fire them, and change them with other ones, but it is not so simple…
Luckily, this month has been very positive too. The good neighborly relations we had in this little hamlet are growing in real friendships, and this is probably the best thing could happen to my girlfriend and me. So, things are not good at all… but not so bad either.
Christmas is approaching too damn fast, and I hope to find four of five days of coziness to maybe sit down and write down a short story. It’s been a while since the last one… but a lot more since the last article on Godsip Club. I would blame the renovation in this case too, but it’s also my fault. If I really wanted, I could write much more. Anyway, I decided to pass more time with friends, and work did not help in these weeks.
One last positive note, and a suggestion I want to give to everyone who likes rock/metal music: listen to Doom Charts’ suggestions (e.g., the monthly rankings), you won’t regret it!
🎧 Those Doom Charts above… and some Christmas oldies.
📖 I finished the first Dirk Gently’s novel, and I quite liked it!
